It's Homesteading Season Again!

It's planting season again! Visiting your local farmers market or nursery will present you with a an amazing selection of seedlings ready to go into the ground!
It is worth noting though that because of Texas' size, what's "plantable" in one area may not be applicable to other areas. See below for a map of the different gardening zones in Texas to see which zone you belong to.
What to plant and where?
Here's a quick date range and what to plant in the specific regions for the coming weeks:

As you can see, the southern parts of the State (where it's basically summer now heat-wise) now have less choices for plants. BUT don't worry, this is just a normalized guide, and if there's one thing for sure, nothing is set in stone, especially the seasons nowadays!
Your local nursery or farmers market vendor will have more information on what plants you can plant TODAY!

And if you're interested in learning more about planting and homesteading, we have a whole section of the site dedicated to homesteading! From basics of gardening, beekeeping, and even raising backyard chickens, we have it covered for your reading pleasure.
