Tuna is in Season!

prickly pear cactus

We're not talking about the fish though, the tuna we meant was the fruit of the Prickly Pear cactus. This tasty little treat has been a staple in The Lone Star State even before there was a Lone Star State, and even before America! A lot of people argue whether it tastes like melons or strawberries, or even kiwis, but we can all agree that it is quite tasty! This time of the year, the prickly pear fruit is coming into full ripeness so whether you're harvesting your own or buying them from your local vendors, it's certainly something to look out for!
