Yay, it’s Sunday! And what better way to cap off the last day of the week (or the start of a new one, depending on how you look at it) than with some Texan cocktails to warm you up? The Texas Buck is a great Sunday night companion that is for easy drinking (unless you are down 4 mugs and forgot it’s going to be Monday the next day). The mix of honeyed bourbon, ginger beer, and lime combines the oaky flavors of whiskey, the warm flavors of ginger, and the tarty kick of lime.

The Texas Buck is a refreshing drink. The mix of Texas honeyed bourbon, ginger beer, and lemon juice beautifully ties together the flavors of a drink that you may mix again and again. What makes this mix Texan is the Honeydew Craft Bourbon from Garrison Brothers. This bourbon is a great addition to this buck cocktail because it is both light and smooth - allowing the different flavors from the ginger beer and lemon juice.

Ingredients

  • 2 Oz. Garrison Brothers Honeydew Craft Bourbon

  • 4 Oz. Ginger Beer

  • ½ Oz. Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice

  • Crushed Ice

  • Mint Sprig

  • Mule Mug

  • Short Straw

Make your life easier by ordering a mule mug and short straw online; it's just a few clicks away!

Instructions

  1. In a mule mug, squeeze about half an ounce of lime juice then add your crushed ice. Make sure to leave a bit of space between the ice and the rim of the mug. We know you’re excited to chug it down but behave yourselves.

  2. Pour in the 2 ounces of Garrison Brothers Honeydew Craft Bourbon then top it off with more ice but do not fill the mug just yet. Pour yourself a shot to get the ball rolling.

  3. Add your 4 ounces of ginger beer then add your sprig of mint as garnish. Look for a comfortable corner to sit down and enjoy this perfect way to mellow out on a Sunday night.

The buck in the Texas Buck is the mix of ginger beer and the Honeydew Craft Bourbon from Garrison Brothers. The mix of freshly squeezed lime juice and sprigs of mint gives this a truly Texan touch since the fruit and herbs can be sourced locally at farmers’ markets all around the Lone Star State. Now, it’s time to find yourself a mule mug and prep those ingredients for this awesome Sunday cocktail.
