It’s Monday yet again and time to grab a big cup of coffee and face the week head-on. Of course, it is highly advisable to take a break at times. And what better way to do this than read some random articles on the internet? We here at TexasRealFood have compiled a list of reading material that will bring some fun to your Monday mental break.

Read on to feed the chaos of the universe. With these articles, who know what you’ll find?

Liqueurs and Spirits: They’re Different, Right?

Buzzed or not, you’ve found yourself along the aisles of liquor stores and wondering what to get. Along with this, you also read the different labels that you’re not quite sure how to pronounce. Especially those terms like liqueurs and spirits.

Curious? Read up and know the difference.

Save the Wild Coffee

For me, a mug of coffee brings forth images of long drawn-out work nights punctuated by black mugs of liquid energy. This is basically my love story of coffee where I’ve grown the habit of appreciating these beans. In fact, to a point where I found out, there are types of coffee that are under threat of being extinct.

Grab a cup and read more to find out.

The Great [and Expensive] Chicago Food Tour

For $500 you get to sample some gastronomic delights that are uniquely Chicago. Think of it as a tasting tour of the historic metropolis. The tour includes some Chicago food highlights like popcorn, hotdogs, and donuts [yes, you read that right].

Is it worth it? Read here to decide for yourself. Me personally, I’d rather get a large slab of brisket and still have more than enough for drinks all around!

Milky Soda? Why?

Pepsi, in the spirit of the coming holiday season, wants you to try ‘Pilk.’ What’s that, you say? It’s basically a mix of Pepsi and milk as a fun take on the holiday food combination of milk and cookies.

Pretty, odd for me but I highly recommend you to read on.

Evidence of Neanderthal Culinary Skills

History constantly unfolds itself from the different discoveries that we make of our ancient ancestors. Lately, we’re beginning to picture the day-to-day lives of our distant neanderthal ancestors - specifically the way they cook.

The perfect meal-time reading material, read up on evidence of Neanderthal culinary prowess.

Christmas Keg Tree Lighting is all you need to hear

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Rochester Genesee Keg Tree will be lit up two days after the yearly tree-lighting ceremony at the Rockefeller Center in New York. This is a great way to start the holiday season for the mere prospect of a Christmas tree made of beer.

I’m pretty hyped. Read more here to find out.

TGI Friday’s Gets Sued for Mozzarella-less Mozzarella Sticks

Imagine ordering food and what you get instead is a steamed rock on a plate. Well, the level of disappointment is quite similar to an individual in Illinois who ordered mozzarella sticks from TGI Fridays that were instead filled with cheddar.

Would’ve helped if they just called them cheddar sticks. Read here to know more.

How about some mayonnaise…on that eggnog?

Hellman’s, the quintessential mayonnaise brand, is promoting mixing mayonnaise in eggnog. We know that’s going to raise quite a few pairs of eyebrows but one has to keep an open mind.

If you’re all for mayonnaise in your eggnog, read more here.
