Texas is home to a number of craft breweries and some even carry traditional brewing techniques from continental Europe. This history of bringing over family traditions is what makes Texas great and even better every October for the annual celebration of Oktoberfest. This is as ripe a time as any to flex those beer bellies and enjoy different shades of brews at the many craft breweries across the Lone Star State.

October is here and we’re going to kick it off with a cheat sheet of sorts to help all of you beer-hounds out there. Here are 18 of the best Texas Oktoberfest events, where you can enjoy great beer, food, and fun. Prost!

Wurstfest – New Braunfels

This 10-day festival celebrates all things sausage, and awesome beers. With over 100 taps flowing throughout the event, you’ll be able to find your favorite Texas brews or be adventurous and try something new. In addition to sausage samplers and other German fares, there’s also live music on multiple stages, carnival rides, and more.

Fredericksburg Oktoberfest – Fredericksburg

Enjoy a little taste of Fredericksburg’s German Heritage at this year’s 42nd Oktoberfest. There are plenty of German, local craft, and import beers on tap, as well as Texas wines from the Hill Country. You can also enjoy traditional German food like bratwurst, schnitzel, and pretzels (how long do pretzels last?). In addition to all the great food and drink, there’s live music, dancing, and other entertainment.

San Antonio Oktoberfest 2022 - San Antonio
