Revolver Taco Lounge
2701 Main Street, Suite. 120
Dallas, TX
When you think Revolver Taco Lounge, think breath-taking graffiti and lip-smacking tacos! The Lounge opened its Dallas location in 2017 as an unassuming joint with less than 50 seats, an open kitchen and family members who doubled up as employees. Cut to 2021, Revolver Taco Lounge has not only survived the pandemic, but it welcomes you into a revamped dining room with socially-distant tables that continue to enjoy loyal customers. The menu here is an ode to the owner’s Michoacán heritage and his passion for Japanese cuisine. Right from the freshly-handmade corn tortilla, perfectly-tender, juicy meat to the zingy, flavor-bomb salsa, you’ll find the chefs here create magic with their tacos. Must-try recommendations include Al Pastor, Pato and Caro Quintero among other hits.
If you desire the specialty seven-course experience, then consider reserving a table at their La Resistencia dining area.
Velvet Taco
Multiple locations
If you’re looking to enjoy a good ol’ taco with a global twist, then Velvet Taco is the place to be. This Texan All Star enjoys loyal patronage across the state with locations in Austin, Houston, Fort Worth, Dallas and more. Any Velvet Taco you walk into greets you with its signature hot-pink color scheme, and some fun, quirky murals. Much to our delight, this eclectic theme extends into the menu as well! Not just your regular Tex-Mex, Velvet Taco takes taco-eating to another level with delicious flavors from around the world folded between fresh corn tortillas (how long do corn tortillas last?). For starters, you can’t go wrong with the Spicy Tikka Chicken, Cuban Pig, or the Chicken and Waffle. If you’re feeling confused, then the ‘WTF’ or ‘Weekly Taco Feature’ can help make up your mind. Everything here is made from scratch with seasonal ingredients, so rest assured that your meal is going to be fresh and delicious! Wash your taco down with their ‘kick-ass margaritas’, and round off your meal with the house-made red velvet cake.

Milagro Taco Cantina
440 Singleton Blvd Ste 100,
Dallas, TX 75212
What’s better than a local favorite taqueria, in a brand new and upgraded avatar? That’s Milagro Taco Cantina for you. Reincarnated from its former self - Tacos Mariachi - Taco Cantina brings home all the original hits and then some. Roll up to the 440 Singleton Blvd location and treat yourself to some of the restaurant’s classics such as the tender grilled octopus, smoked salmon, or their shrimp tacos. Experiment with the new menu entrants like the mahi birria, ceviche tostadas and the campechano with carne asada. Featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives”, Chef Jesus Carmona leaves no stone unturned to ensure his visitors get the full Mexican experience, and has stocked his drinks menu with tequila, mezcal, and ice-cold Mexican beers.
Veracruz All Natural
1704 E Cesar Chavez St.,
Austin, Texas, 78702
Fresh ingredients, soulful flavors and authentic recipes, Veracruz All Natural has everything to warm your heart and fill your tummy. This is an immigrant family success story that the businesswomen-sister duo, Reyna and Maritza Vazquez, have scripted for themselves. Overcoming obstacles of all kinds, Veracruz All Natural is today a legendary taco truck in multiple locations that has honestly earned the label of best breakfast tacos in Austin. Along with the vegetarian and healthy options on the menu, the best taco here would definitely be the migas tacos, made with soft scrambled eggs seasoned to perfection accompanied with generous helping of monterey jack cheese, pico de gallo, avocado, and finally topped off with some tortilla chips (how long do tortilla chips last?) for that fun crunch. Another area of delicious expertise here would be the natural juices and smoothies, made with the freshest ingredients and a vibrant Mexican twist.
Gerardo’s Drive In
609 Patton St.,
Houston, TX, 77009
This inconspicuous grocery store and taqueria has been a landmark in the Houston food scene since 1977, so our list really wouldn’t be complete without it. If you are based in the Northside area, chances are that you have spent several weekends in line here at Gerardo’s. The barbacoa and carnitas tacos here are widely accepted as the best tacos in Houston. Cow head meat packed with flavor, bright and feisty homemade salsas, fresh flour tortillas, and authentic Michoacán delicacies await you at the counters here. Arrive early and take home some memorable and heart-filling tacos!
Carnitas Don Raúl-USA
2202 Broadway St.,
San Antonio, TX, 78209
This taco truck is a bit of a star, with its original Michoacán restaurant having featured on Netflix’s Taco Chronicles. The food served here is no different from its Mexican parent, filled with meaty textures and flavors that make a carnitas taco so irresistible. Run by Martin and Michelle Muñoz, the taco truck uses traditional cooking methods and recipes passed down the generations. It’s no wonder the carnitas here have garnered a devoted following among San Antonio’s taco lovers. Performing in equal measure, the guacamole and picante salsas make your meal a perfect 10.
