Pontotoc Vineyard

Owned by Carl and Frances since 2003, the Pontotoc Vineyard started out with 5-acres of Tempranillo Vines. The vineyard and winery were once the main buildings of Pontotoc and were restored by the owners as a place where visitors can drink exceptional wines and enjoy. Back-dropped by historical landmarks, it’s a great place to spend afternoons with a cold glass of fine wine in hand, cheese plate, and you can even set up your own picnic with great local food in the outdoor seating area. If you get to visit to drink wine, try their 2019 San Fernando Academy that has hints of black currant, sweet cherry, and toasted oak.

Cross Mountain Vineyards

Inspired by Italian wine, the Evans family established Cross Mountain Vineyards to provide visitors with a memorable experience with a family-friendly atmosphere. They mainly focus on Artisan small-batch Italian wines that have been grown, vinted, and bottled in the Italian Hill Country. Their wines have a full-bodied characteristic to them that is sure to be a mind-blowing experience for wine lovers. They have their own tasting room that can be booked in advance where their friendly staff is eager to educate anybody who is interested in tasting, wine production and the whole process involved from grape selection to bottling. When I visited, I tried their Montepulciano Riserva Red from Abruzzo. It hints at flavors of cedar, smoke, and dark red fruit that go well with grilled meats.
