Growing up around the western part of Texas, I had the opportunity to visit family and friends who work their fields. Of course, I was also eager to help out and had my share of working the fields in hot summer afternoons. And, as a means to cool down and look back at a good day’s work, a perfect day ender is mixing up a cold glass of Texas Ranch Water

'Tis the Season for Holiday Cocktails with a Texas Flair

For an outsider, this seems like drinking out of a donkey trough but we assure you, you’re going to come back for seconds with this recipe. To put it in more general terms, the Texas Ranch Water we all know and love is a Blanco Tequila highball that’s mixed with lime juice and our across-the-border favorite of Topo Chico. So prep those shakers, mixing glass, and a bottle of Dulce Vida Organic Tequila..

Bottoms Up: 4 Specialty Drinks You Must Try

Ingredients

  • 3 Oz. Dulce Vida Organic Handcrafted Tequila

  • 1 ½ Oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice

  • Chilled Topo Chico

  • 1 Lime Wedge (for garnish)

Directions

  1. Get your highball glass [or basically any old glass you have], wet it under the faucet for a bit and put it into the freezer. This will allow your drink to be extra chilled and will keep that low temperature for longer.

  2. While your glass is cooling in the freezer, slice up the lime for the juice and a wedge for garnish. Also, get yourself some ice and take out your chilled glass.

  3. Put in your ice in the chilled glass, ice, and your Dulce Vida Handcrafted Tequila then top it off with your Topo Chico. Garnish with a lime wedge.

I highly recommend purchasing highball glass online for a convenient shopping experience!

This simple-to-make but refreshing drink screams Texas. The non-negotiable addition of Topo Chico looks at the flavors that we share from across the border and the addition of lime gives it a Southern twist. Also, the Dulce Vida Organic Handcrafted Tequila blends well with the other ingredients because of hints of citrus to the nose, notes of spice and a smooth finish of sweet agave.
